Why Robots? Simply because Robots occupy the minds of everyone. Tens of thousands of school children in Europe, who may have no interest in technical subjects, change their mind as a result of these essential interactions. The interaction with robots complements the overall teaching experience and helps to motivate young people of any age to learn not only the basics of STEM, but also to direct them on to an independent exploratory, self-motivated learning path. This European Robotics Week 2016 is going to be awesome, we are getting more and more events in each day. Central Event “Robots to the Rescue”, Amsterdam, 18-22 November. In order to celebrate the European character of the event we want to broadcast (e.g. by using the live function on Facebook) as many other events all over Europe as possible. American Academy of Pediatrics has lifted its recommendation discouraging all electronic media use in children under the age of 2.

In a marked shift from recommendations first adopted in 1999, the American Academy of Pediatrics has lifted its recommendation discouraging all electronic media use in children under the age of 2. The new recommendations for children's media use acknowledge that some media exposure can have educational value for children as young as 18 months, but it should be high-quality programming—the AAP specifically referenced "Sesame Street," and children's programming provided by PBS. During the FIRST® LEGO® League challenge 2016 "Animal Allies" teams will look into the eyes of our "Animal Allies". What might become possible when we learn to help each other? From Aug 30th, 2016 the detailed missions for the FLL Robot-Game & FLL Research Project will be published on our website. In the US, registration will be open between Apr 4th and Oct 14th, 2016. During the Science Festival 2016 in Genoa, the School of Robotics will be organizing two Laboratories which will be lasting the whole Festival lenght. One is inspired by Sherlock (Holmes, of course!), where participants will have to solve some puzzles and will be discovering that the blameworthy is.. a robot! The other, for kids from 4 to 7, pivots around the creation of artistic figurines inspired by machines. Read more
