A new course of underwater robotics: The Robots of the Ocean. The course takes place on the Arco89 Diving Center barge, moored at Genoa Old Port Wet Basin. Participants (8 - 10 years of age) will learn how to design and built a small underwater robots; how to control it at sea; and how to monitor by it the water and the seafloor . The participants' artifacts will be showed at the Duilio Marcante Award Events in 2016. Read more

Genoa, 2 - 3 of December: Kick-off Meeting of RoboESL European Project

RoboESL is th name of a project co-funded by the Programme Erasmus Plus of the European Union. It is managed by Liceo Fermi of Genoa, and the School of Robotics is among the project partners. The acronym RoboESL means Robotics-based learning interventions for preventing school failure and Early School Leaving. On December 2nd and 3rd 2015 the first project Transnational meeting will take place in Genoa. The European partners - coming from Latvia, Italy, and Greece - will be planning the project activities devoted to support learning methodology for fragile students, preventing them to early leaving school. Genoa, December 2015: Genoa MadLab improves its offer in ollaboration with the School of Robotics

MadLab Genoa is a rich, funny, and a very useful enterprise located, as it is, in a difficult neighborhood. In fact, the center of Genoa is the widest medieval borough of all Europe, and it is almost intact. But, precisely these interesting characteristic make Genoa "caruggi" (a maze of backstreets and alleyways) an underdeveloped area. The Genoa Municipality s just trying to intervene, supporting young people business enterprise downtown. MadLab is one of them, opened up thanks to a consortium comprised of the same Municipality, Festival della Scirenza, Cooperativa Il Laboratorio, and the School of Robotics. The main aim is to teach about 3D printing. This project is co-financed by Compagnia di San Paolo. Read more

The European Robotics Week offers one week of various robotics related activities across Europe for the general public, highlighting growing importance of robotics in a wide variety of application areas. The Week aims at inspiring technology education in students of all ages to pursue careers in STEM-related fields, i.e. science, technology, engineering and math. In 2015, we expect over 500 robotics events to take place in European and associate countries. Read more

Genova, Savona: New robotics classes for students of the School of Building

11/11/2015 - Courses for Teachers, Classes for Students

The School of Robotics and the Scuola Edile (School of Building of Genoa and Savona) have agreed to start a project of some hours of classes of robotics for teachers and students of the School of Building. Participants are going to work on some robotics kit (Lego EV3 and BYOR) to test and improve STEM concepts and logical reasoning. Read more

School of Robotics Emanueel Micheli is going to give a talk at the Erickson Conference on "The Quality of School inclusion". Micheli will present some case studies where the use of robotics kit and of the humanoid robot NAO have improved the learning abilities of SEN students. School of Robotics is working, as partner of the Europole, in the EDUROB project. Read more
