"Robotics" wishes for 2012

These last days of the year, we are working hardly to broaden Educational Robotics’ application areas, and harvesting from our 2011.We have applied the Arduino platform to robotics, and developed new training courses based on it, with the collaboration of UCIMU-CSFU Center (CSFU is the educational branch of the Italian Union of Machine Tools). In a short time,we will have  “Arduino and robotics” training courses in Udine and other Italian cities.

We are also developing a new line of courses, devoted to Robotics&Design, employing Autodesk Inventor, the 3D mechanical solid modeling design software for creating 3D digital prototypes used in the design, visualization and simulation of products. At Milano Robotica 2011 (16-18 November, 2011) School of Robotics gathered Arduino’s inventor, Massimo Banzi, and Arduino fans presenting their robots and multimedia installations developed with Arduino. The training courses in Milano and Udine confirm the success of this application. Furthermore, School of Robotics is carrying out the II year of the course “Industrial Production 2” at University of Genoa  where students learn how to design and develop robots for people with special needs.

Among some of our aims in 2012 are:

to expand the application of Educational Robotics to the specific subject of Mathematics and Physics, for students from 11 to 16 years old (applying also GeoGebra);

to develop specific training courses and workshops on LabVIEW and Educational Robotics;

to develop more structured Educational robotics courses and workshops for autistic and differently-abled people;

to broaden the research on our well-established training courses: Scratch, the very useful programming language for people of any experience; LabVIEW; Kuka Sim.Pro for robotics arms; Java and C++; Lego NXT and WeDo.

To accomplish our wishes and dreams in 2012, we need your help!
