Reading time Reading time: 1 minute

The School of Robotics is attending the conference Handimatica 2010 (Bologna, Italy, 25-27, 2010) introducing its projects on "educational robotics, autism and disability". This project, which employs some robotics kits with autistic children, started in Genova July 2010. New collaboration on this important issues are going on between the School of Robotics and interested institutions. collaboration.

Handimatica is an important and well attended conference on the use of ICT technologies to the advantage of several disabilities (sight,  hear, mopbility, mental, cognition).
School of Robotics' Emanuele Micheli  presents two laboratories. The first (25th November -3 p.m ) on Autism and educational robotics.
In this workshop, Micheli introduces the participants to the methodology and results of his work with a little group of autistic boys. The project has been organized the past Summer 2010 in collaboration with "Accademia Philos" and with Maria Grazia Vidotto. During the summber laboratories in Genova, educational robotics kits (like Lego We Do) , and also narrating stories about robots, helped to upgrade the collaboration among kids, and between kids and teachers.
The other workshop by Micheli is on "Integration and Disability", on the potential use of educational robotics as a tool of integration. In fact,  the construction of a robot is a process that connects the "diverse intelligences", in so promoting the collaboration among kids, and between kids and teachersd. This relationship is the first step towards integration.

All Events at Handimatica are free and open to all.
