On November 19th and 20th, the 1st International ICT and Education conference (ticEDUCA 2010) takes place in Lisbon, Portugal. This conference is organized by the Institute of Education of the University of Lisbon in cllaboration with the scientific electronic journal Educação, Formação & Tecnologias (where a number of the best selected papers will be published) and the Unit for Educational Research and Training of Lisbon University.

The aim of this conference is to discuss about ICT and Education, that is the integration of ICT subjects in the European programs, and their role as factor of change and innovation.

In this frame, School of Robotics' Fausto Ferreira presents a paper about the growing spreading of Educational Robotics'projects. It focuses on the Italian experience, but introduces also the activities of School of Robotics in Portugal, where it is slowly creeping in the schooling.

Moreover, Ferreira will presents some innovative projects: interesting projects of Educational robotics developed at Gaslini Pediatric Hospital School of Genoa, Italy, and the use of robotics kits with autistic kids.

Ferreira attending ticEDUCA 2010 Conference is also a way to confirm the presence of School of Robotics in Portugal, and to promote there some of our experiences.

It will also be a good oportunity to exchange experiences and compare our work with Portuguese projects. This exchange already started through the Conference's social network (http://ticeduca.crowdvine.com/) allowing people to start to communicate and met virtually before the conference. With this, School of Robotics can improve and gain valuable knowledge. The webpage of the conference where all the information can be seen is http://ticeduca.ie.ul.pt/
