Immacolata Nappi, teacher at the Hospital School "G. Gaslini" of Genoa delivered a Lecture on the use of educational and creative robotics at the Rome Cup 2012 event in Roma.

Today, many hospitals have teachers working on the wards, and some even have their own hospital school. In Italy, the Hospital School is part of the public school system. Hospital Schools provide educational support for students whose physical or mental health prevents them from successfully participating in their own school programs. Often, they are located in the related hospital’s ward.

The Nursery Hospital School “Giannina Gaslini and the “Giannina Gaslini” Hospital School is located inside the Pediatric Hospital “Giannina Gaslini” in Genoa, Italy. Their activities ensure that coming into hospital did not mean missing out on little patients’ schoolwork or exams.
The kids are taught in a group in the hospital school, or in a one-to-one situation on the ward or even at their bedside.

On 2009, upon suggestion by the School’s teacher and in team with the School of Robotics, and in the frame of the Tales about Robots Week, kids in day-hospital started a project called “Telling robot Tales”, building artifacts inspired by the idea of the robot.
