27th of October, Turin, Italy. In the frame of View Conference, School of Robotics sèeaks about "Educational robotics: A bridge between two worlds". VIEW Conference is the premiere international event in Italy on Computer Graphics, Interactive Techniques, Digital Cinema, 3D Animation, Gaming and VFX.

VIEW Conference is the premiere international event in Italy on Computer Graphics, Interactive Techniques, Digital Cinema, 3D Animation, Gaming and VFX.

VIEW 2010 will continue to focus on exploring the increasingly fluid boundary between real and digital worlds. Through lectures, meetings, tributes, exhibits, screenings and demo presentations VIEW will reveal the new digital frontier sweeping from cinema to architecture, from automotive design to advertisement, from medicine to videogames.

On October 27th, in the frame of VIEW Conference 2010, Emanuele Micheli of School of Robotics speaks about relation on educational robotics as a link between virtual and real world.

The abstract of his speech is the following:

Educational robotics is an educational tool supporting teaching on every schooling level and step, from nursery to university. Robotics lies at the crossroad between different scientific and humanistic disciplines, and it is a major resource for the next phase of technoscience. A true educational robotics project needs the collaboration of different knowledges, from art to math and physics, from technical drawings to philosophy, from virtual world to reality. How a child would modify his world’s paradigm by designing, building and programming a robot? How children’s fantasy and creativity will modify future robotics? And how will Humanities change robotics science?  At its turn, robotics can be seen as a physical bond to the designer’s creativity. This lecture derives its conceptions from an educational point of view describing how real and virtual world could change by robotics, which could be conceived as a link, a bridge between these two worlds.
