Mathematical Kangaroo is an international mathematical competition where over 50 countries are represented. School of Robotics will be attending attending the 2017 Final Contest with educational robotics for STEM.

Mathematical Kangaroo (also known as International Mathematical Kangaroo, or Kangourou sans frontières in French) is the largest competition for school students in the world, with over 6,000,000 participants from more than 50 countries in 2016.There are twelve levels of participation, ranging from grade 1 to grade 12. The competition is held annually on the third Thursday of March. According to the organizers, the key competence tested by Mathematical Kangaroo is logical combination, not just pure knowledge of formulas.

Its history stretches back several decades. In the 1980's, Peter O’Halloran, an Australian mathematician and teacher, began a popular mathematical competition in his country. The test was open to anyone who wanted to participate, and included engaging and thought-provoking questions which stemmed from mathematical areas of knowledge including algebra, geometry, and logic. The name Kangourou  suggests the competition  Australian origin.
